In Love With: Wicker and Rattan
I picked out my first bed frame when I first moved out of college. It was a black iron frame with a scrolled headboard and foot board. I still have it today, six years later and it’s been in as many moves. The bed frame has been very versatile with all the different kinds of decor that I’ve gone through. However, I still remember when I was picking the frame out that I almost went in a completely different direction. There was this one bed in the showroom that had a white frame with a wicker headboard, and I lurved it. Somehow, my mother managed to talk me out of it and convince me that I would have tired of it. Maybe she would have been right, but maybe not. Since then, I have had a long-standing personal lust for more wicker in my life ever since. So, when I stumbled across a website called The Family Love Tree, that sells mostly wicker furniture, I was so pumped to share some of their pieces with you!
Hopefully now, you understand my passion of wicker. I mean this is wicker done right! Look at that crazy fuchsia wicker side table! The teal and the fuchsia headboard also have me completely wrapped around their finger pole. Wait, that sounds bad.
This is not your grandma’s rattan furniture. They also carry these extremely ornate, vintage inspired, wicker chairs that I would love to set by a pool or in a sun room. I’m sure I wouldn’t look as regal or exotic if you will, as the ladies designer and her daughter, occupying the chairs in the pictures, but I’m sure I would be one happy gal nonetheless.
Many of their furniture pieces also come in children’s sizes such as the rattan chairs, and their end tables.
All the furniture was designed by Australian native, Katie Graham. Her inspiration for The Family Love Tree furniture came from a trip to Bali she and her husband took for their second honeymoon. “Katie has taken all the wild, bohemian spirit of rattan furniture, handcrafted screens and macramé hangers and eclectically blended them with the contemporary edge of modern screen printed fabrics and bursting colours.”
Ah, that is about all the bold I can take for today, and who would have thought it would come from wicker and rattan furniture? Are you a fan of bold colors and ornate rattan? Check out The Family Love Tree for a full listing of their products!
