Pinterest Challenge: Becca’s Lamp Revamp

I also had a few friends who don’t have blogs but also wanted to participate in the pinterest challenge. I said “send ‘em my way!” And they did. First up is Becca, you may remember some of the projects she’s done in the past such as this headboard and this canvas art. So this time around she decided to revamp a couple of lamps she had purchased a while ago from an online website.

When I first began using pinterest she was also eagerly by my side waiting for her own invitation to begin her journey through the world of pinning. Thus she began her own board, you can see it here. She found this image of two lamps from pinterest and ran with it.

She had two chrome and black lamps and wanted them to do more than just add light, she wanted them to add color! Here are the before lamps.

If you could have only seen her room from the beginning, she’s already made so many changes. I will say I love her color palate, it’s really coming together. Here’s a close up of one of the lamps.

She took the lamps and removed the lamp shade first and then taped off the sections of the lamp she didn’t want painted. Becca chose to spray paint the lamps in a rustoleum light blue.

She spray painted her lamps on her balcony and laid down some grocery bags to keep her concrete paint free. Always make sure when using toxic chemicals such as spray paint to do so in a well ventilated area. Also remember spray painting isn’t about how fast you can get it done. For the best results make sure to do thin even coats. Trust me, four thin even coats will make you so much happier than two gloppy runny coats.

And here’s the after of her bedroom all set up, look at those two friendly lamps adding a nice little pop of blue to her room. Doesn’t it just look so cheery and inviting?
