Jamie’s Mini Upgrade New On The Market: Craft Storage Pieces

Moving 101: One Week Before Moving

We are getting so darn close! It’s at about this point I began bouncing off the walls and getting super nostalgic. Most of the time I must be consoled by my sweet boyfriend, or taken out for a night out to forget about it by some of my gal pals. But enough about me, what else do you need to do to get ready for this move?

Pre-plan: You’re not going to need access to everything in the house even though you may feel like it. So set aside the only things you are going to need for a week. Really try to get it down to essentials. What I find helps me is pretending I’m packing for a week vacation, I set aside outfits and toiletries. The main difference though between packing for a va-cay and packing for a move (you know beside the lack of a beach and some great nights out) is that you also have to think of what you’ll need in your kitchen, and living room as well as just clothes and toiletries. Some other things to consider leaving unpacked: leasing agreements, important phone numbers, keys, plastic plates/cups/utensils, napkins. Other than those things I say GET TO PACKIN!

Use it or lose it! Try to use up all of your perishables during this week, you don’t want to have to worry about traveling with eggs and milk when you have so many other things to worry about! You may want to stock up on some bottled water (you will rarely hear me suggest bottled water, but when it comes to a move, you’ll want to simplify your life), for yourself and the moving help you may have, you do not want to get dehydrated.

Pack! Pack! Pack! And I know it sounds simple but please don’t leave it to the last minute! Just pick a room and start there, don’t leave the room until it is packed! You’ll want to make sure to label every box with which room it belongs in, and if you can, write down a majority of what it contains. Then move on to the next room. You’ll be done before you know it!

Coming up next, the big day…..stay tuned. Hope all is going well with you!
