Residing in this place of space: Jessica Wellins

Geography: Denton, Texas

Square Feet: 676

Jessica’s cozy two bedroom is nestled in the liberal college town of Denton, Texas. This apartment was by no means as stressful as the rest of the campus since finals were beginning to take place, instead it was a calming and serene place that Jess could come and recharge between her busy class schedule. From the thrift store coat rack to the classy convertible couch Jess’s style creates a casually comfy home. When I arrived I was greeted by Jess and her man friend Jack, and their arms laden with fresh flowers which they displayed all over the apartment for a touch-o-freshness. Accented with some stellar local flea market finds, this home is the perfect mix of old and new.

A brief look at Jess:

Favorite Room: I have so many favorite parts of the place, it was tough to decide and think it through. My favorite, favorite part has to be my dining area- I use it to eat and to study, and I love to sit there and look around my little nest.

Most Interesting Element: I really love the built-in book-case, which is surprising considering how awkward it made things at the beginning.

If You Could Change Anything: My least favorite part of the apartment is the creaky ceiling/floor above me. -I am SO happy with each room, but I’d love my bedroom a bit more with curtains and a bit more attention. Maybe a dramatic curtain rod and an antique mirror to build up the piece in the corner.
